At a glance
- Manuscripts and reviews are confidential.
- Reviewer identities are never shown to authors.
- Ratings of your work are private.
- Payout data is used only to pay you.
Editors and reviewers handle other people's unpublished work, and the journal handles their data in turn. This page covers both. The general rules are in the journal's privacy policy.
What the team keeps confidential
- Manuscripts, reviews and the messages about them, before and after the decision.
- The identity of reviewers, and the identity of authors towards reviewers.
- Discussions in the editorial chats.
Manuscripts are never shared outside the editorial process or uploaded to external services.
What the journal keeps about you
- Account and profile: name, title, affiliation, country, expertise, research profile links and a photo taken from your public research profile.
- Your work: assignments, reviews, decisions, deadlines and chats.
- Ratings: editors may rate reviews and the Editor in Chief sees the team's performance. Ratings are visible only to the person who gave them and the Editor in Chief; a review's rating may also be stored as its quality score in the journal system.
What is public
Your name, affiliation, country, photo and profile links appear on the editorial board or reviewer page while you are a member. Reviews and ratings are never public.
Your rights
You can update your profile from your desk. To leave the team or have your data removed, write to [email protected]. Records needed for published articles and payments are kept as the law and the scholarly record require.
