This study analyzes the factors causing sexual violence against children in Pohuwato Regency and the efforts of the Pohuwato Resort Police to prevent and enforce the law against these crimes. This study uses an empirical legal method at the Pohuwato Resort Police, specifically the Women and Children's Service Unit, and is supported by a literature review of laws and criminal law references. The results indicate that the factors causing sexual violence against children include the vulnerability of victims, technological developments and access to pornography, low levels of education and economic conditions, the residential environment, and power relations that facilitate perpetrators in committing crimes. Research data show that there have been cases of sexual violence against children in recent years, such as sexual intercourse and molestation. The efforts of the Pohuwato Resort Police are carried out through routine patrols, legal counseling in schools and villages, increasing public awareness, and repressive actions through investigation and inquiry processes. This study concludes that the prevention of sexual violence against children must be implemented in an integrated manner through pre-emptive, preventive, and repressive strategies involving families, schools, communities, village governments, and law enforcement officials.Downloads
