A conflict of interest exists when financial, personal, academic or institutional relationships could influence, or be seen to influence, a person's judgement. Journal of Education and Teaching Learning asks everyone involved in publication to declare such interests.
- Authors declare all funding and competing interests in the manuscript; "none" must be stated explicitly.
- Reviewers decline a review when they have a close relationship with the authors, a competing project or a financial interest in the outcome.
- Editors do not handle manuscripts from their own institution, close collaborators or relatives; such submissions are assigned to another editor and reviewed independently.
- Undisclosed conflicts discovered after publication are handled under the corrections policy.
