Publication ethics

Journal of Education and Teaching Learning is committed to the highest standards of publication ethics and follows the Core Practices and guidance of the Committee on Publication Ethics (COPE). Editors, reviewers, authors and the publisher, PT Media Jurnal Dan Pendidikan, share responsibility for the integrity of the scholarly record.

Duties of editors

  • Decide on manuscripts solely on their scholarly merit, originality, clarity and relevance to the journal's scope, without regard to authors' race, gender, religion, nationality, institution or political views.
  • Keep every submission confidential and never use unpublished material for their own research.
  • Declare and step aside from any manuscript where they have a conflict of interest.
  • Investigate suspected misconduct following COPE flowcharts and publish corrections or retractions when needed.

Duties of reviewers

  • Help the editor decide and help authors improve their work, with objective, constructive and timely comments.
  • Treat manuscripts as confidential documents and decline when they lack the expertise or have a conflict of interest.
  • Point out relevant published work that is not cited and any substantial similarity to other work.

Duties of authors

  • Submit original work that has not been published or submitted elsewhere, and cite the work of others accurately.
  • List as authors only those who made a substantial contribution, and agree on the author order before submission.
  • Disclose funding and any conflict of interest, and obtain ethical approval and informed consent where the research requires it.
  • Report significant errors in their published work to the editor promptly.

Handling misconduct

Suspected plagiarism, data fabrication or falsification, duplicate publication, citation manipulation or undisclosed conflicts of interest can be reported to [email protected]. The editor will contact the parties involved, follow the relevant COPE flowchart and, where misconduct is confirmed, take action ranging from a correction to a retraction and notifying the authors' institutions.
