- Earned when the author's invoice is paid.
- Cancelled when the publication fee is refunded or waived.
The commission is the partner's fee for assisting an author. It is added to the author's publication fee, so the author sees it openly and the journal never pays it out of the editorial budget.

- 7 days
- Own rate you may ask for, up to

- Fee Services
The percentage is taken from the publication fee base: the base amount plus the journal's cost components and fees. Optional services and Fast Track are not included. The journal may agree a rate of your own (up to 100%); that rate then replaces the journal's rate, for all issues or the issues named in the agreement.
On the author's invoice
The commission appears on the invoice as "Fee Services", is taxed like the other lines and is listed on the receipt. Authors see it before they pay; see Working with a partner. When you start assisting after the author has already paid the publication fee, the partner service fee is billed to the author on its own invoice.
When it is earned
- The author's invoice is paid: the commission is recorded in your partner area.
- It becomes withdrawable once the article is published.
- A holding period of 7 days then applies before you can withdraw it.
When it is cancelled
- The publication fee is refunded: the commission is cancelled.
- The publication fee is waived: no commission is due.
- The partnership ends because of an ethics breach: unpaid commission is not paid out.
Independence
The commission never depends on the decision and never affects it. See the publication fees policy and conflicts of interest. Withdrawals are explained in the withdrawal policy.
