At a glance

  • Data is used only to handle your manuscripts and publish your articles.
  • Reviewers receive an anonymous copy of your manuscript.
  • Card and bank data for payments is handled by the payment provider.
  • You can see, correct and ask to delete your data.

This page explains how the journal handles the personal data of authors. The general rules are in the journal's privacy policy.

What we keep

  • Account: name, e-mail address, affiliation, country, ORCID iD and, if you add them, a photo and profile links.
  • Manuscripts: the files you upload, their versions, the metadata, the reviews and the messages with the editors.
  • Payments: invoices, receipts and refund requests. Card and online payment data is handled by the payment provider and not stored by the journal; for bank transfers we keep the receipt you upload.
  • Partners: if a partner assists you, the link between your manuscript and that partner.

Why we use it

  • To run the editorial process: checks, peer review, decisions, production and publication.
  • To contact you about your manuscripts, invoices and certificates.
  • To publish the article with the author names, affiliations and ORCID iDs, which then become part of the scholarly record.
  • To meet legal and accounting duties for payments.

We do not sell personal data or use it for advertising.

Who sees it

  • Editors and the editorial staff handling your manuscript.
  • Reviewers, who receive an anonymous copy without your names.
  • The partner you chose, only for the manuscripts it assists.
  • Readers, once the article is published: the names, affiliations and ORCID iDs printed with it.

How long we keep it

Records of published articles are kept permanently, as the scholarly record requires. Account data and unpublished manuscripts are kept while you use the journal and for as long as needed to answer questions about them later.

Your rights

You can see and correct your account data in your author profile. To have your account or other data removed, write to [email protected]. Published articles cannot be changed or removed except through the corrections and retractions policy.
